Barred Owl-Walloon Lake

It has been quite some time since we have observed the Barred Owls in the woods surrounding our home. We have heard them calling across the road a few times where we suspect that they nest but have yet to find a nest though we have done some searching in the past. But last evening, Emmie our dog kept after Bonnie to get her attention and then took her to the glass doors in the back room. After just a bit of looking where the dog was looking Bonnie spotted a Barred Owl perched in a Beech tree overlooking the wood pile and seed feeders. Both the feeders and wood pile attract mice and voles. When Emmie takes you to look out back she has always found something she wants you to see. She is getting older and does her hunting through the windows from the comfort of a couch, but she sure does know which birds we really like.
