Bluebirds are back!!!

Not sure if I should put this on the sightings board or here but I did sight them in my backyard. So, here it is. NOT the best picture by any stretch but they only gave me 2 shutter clicks and I only got one good id picture.

Went for a four mile walk in the snow this morning and as you said there was my FOS male blue bird. Also saw a sharp shinned hawk that flew across the road not 20 feet in front of me in a place with black spruce on both sides of the road. He was so small even up close. Otherwise it was gulls and crows.

In the back yard this morning there were new Juncos and House sparrows. Strange part is there are still American Tree Sparrows and Pine Siskins that over wintered. Which makes me wonder if they will all go north together since normally for me here all keep going south in fall and only pass through in spring.

Alas I slogged back to the woodland nest boxes and once again no Screech owl has made a home. Russ must have the magic box.
