On Thursday I had to cut down a tree for a friend and coming home I came a way I don't ever go just for fun. So spotted a good place to may be go bird watching. So I went Friday morning and it was excellent. So if you are ever in the Alpena area think about

And if you aren't coming here then think about the road less traveled.

This morning (Tues) I went a mile up the road from the previous spot and had great luck. A northern water thrush which is a once every three years bird and a blue winged warbler which is a Michigan life bird for me. Other good birds were the veery and common yellowthroat.
