Banner Feeder days !

Postby Russ Emmons » Sat Feb 03, 2018 4:08 am

I've been complaining about lack of species & numbers of birds at our feeders since the end of last summer.---Not having to fill the feeders sometimes for days. When the big snow of early January blew in around here it changed all that. Numbers & varietys of species increased (finally)---with even a few surprises :W
We haven't seen a Towhee around here for years at anytime but one showed up and has been visiting the feeders until just the past couple of days. We usually see Fox Sparrows, White-throated & White Crowned's in Migration but now have a couple of each most days :R Starlings---Yes STARLINGS!-- a few have returned! after they & other Blackbirds have been AWOL for months. Pine Siskins are here in force. :R Tree Sparrows continue to be sparse the past 2or3 years.

WOWSA! You have finally "hit the jackpot" Russ! Other than woodpeckers (well, and Titmice, Chickadees and Nuthatches) we do also have TONS of Siskins and AGF's. Still hoping for Redpolls, but that hope it starting to wear thin
