Dale and Ruth asked if I could post these awesome findings of Snow Trillium (and a bird report too!) Thanks!

"Ruth and I birded the thumb region of the lower peninsula last Thursday and found several nice birds that have returned from their Winter homes. Some of the good finds included: Palm Warbler, Pine Warbler, Sora, Blue-grey Gnatcatcher, Hermit Thrush, Fox Sparrow, Brown Thrasher, Rusty Blackbird, Sandhill Crane, Eastern Meadowlark, Snipe, Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Greater Yellowlegs, and several species of ducks.
Another good sign of Spring is the blooming of Snow Trillium, Trillium nivale, which we photographed last week. I have included two photographs for you to see. Note the size of this rare trillium in the photo with the acorn!
