Our Rare Fall Visitor

We were thrilled to have this Great Egret spend much of October around the lake this year! We never see them here in breeding plumage, but his/her appearance was a nice surprise. It's been about three years since one has stopped by.

I know they are pretty common downstate, as we saw lots of them off in the swamps off of US 27 when taking our pup to MSU for his medical treatments.

Thanks Mike! :D
It was so dark back in the cove, I had to bump ISO up to 2000 to get a decent shutter speed!

Hope you are doing well!

Thanks Bill!

I got a few decent pics of our Loons with their babies this year... will have to share a couple. Our last chick hatched here was four years ago.... so it was way cool to have two this year! Kept their parents busy!
