With all the complaining I do about not seeing many migrants any more---we found a fresh dead Gray-Cheeked Thrush out in the backyard yesterday. While not a truly "rare" bird it is a species not often seen in this area. It was laying on the ground next to my sons tall ice fishing shanty stored back there. I assume it flew into it even tho no windows on it or around there. It wasn't damaged except for one side of its head was bruised. We are freezing this bird in case some organization wants it for pathology.
