Coming north

Postby David Smith » Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:47 pm

Next week my wife and I are going to Holland for the Tulip festival and we are thinking of driving up to Traverse City to see the Cherry blossoms. Does anyone know if the Cherry blossoms are close to being out?

Thanks.

Hi David,
Could be "iffy", unless this warm stretch gets them "going"... Normal bloom time usually starts about May 10... but it varies year to year. Will keep watch over the next few days and provide an update!

Still not sure on the Cherry blossoms.... but had some really nice warm rain last night, temps are good along with nice sunshine.... The blossoms may start popping this coming weekend on Old Mission and/or Leelanau Peninsulas.... Trillium should be out in nice numbers. I'll try to get hubby to ask a couple of his FedEx couriers if they are seeing any along their routes.

Thanks for the info Sandy. I think we will probably head up to TC when we are done at the Tulip Festival no matter what as there is always something to photopgraph.
We have a lot of trilliums out around here right now.
