time to gear up!

Postby silverowl » Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:05 am

It's time to get things cleaned up and get ready to start my seeds! (in my potting and grow bench area I mean, the garden is still under snow for a few more months) I probably should have started flower seeds already. (or at least checked them)

Thanks Donna! Not sure if I'll be starting anything indoors this year.... Heck, no matter WHAT I do, the deer, rabbits and chippies eat all my flowers, so I don't try to do veggies... oh, what they don't eat, the local geese seem to finish off!

Oh no Sandy! That is so sad. We are making sure to fence this year.

Oh yes--about that time! Longer days getting the urge to get going but the extreme cold now dampens the spirit.
Bought a lot of seeds last fall on closeout sale REALLY cheap. Our experience shows that last years seeds still have an 80 to 90% germination. Was able to find some 2015 RED cabbage seeds at our local Farm & Home store a few days ago. Haven't been able to find ANY anywhere the past few years. Had to buy plants at the greenhouses.
Mail order catalogs coming in now. Gurneys prices are incredible anymore! :(

For my B-day, I received a nice gift certificate from my sis for one of the local nurseries! So at least I'll be "buying" some stuff come Spring (If it ever gets here!)
