Surprisingly enough a Sharp-shinned Hawk (dining on either Chickadee or Blue Jay, all I saw was the feather pile).

We were downstate at friends' house....looked out the window this morning and thought...hey, this is not a lawn decoration!
But rather, camera-shy Coop!

Had to really scramble to find the camera after "last night"!
(don't ya just HATE it when they turn their head JUST as you hit the shutter...then fly off before you can "go again?!!)

Mine was a female Red-bellied Woodpecker. She was a new visitor! There's a male who stops by now and then, but it was the first time I'd seen a female red-bellied at my feeders. Of course, she took off as soon as I picked up my camera, however, this little Downy came over shortly thereafter (she's a frequent visitor):

(I think she needs a napkin).

1. Black capped Chickadee as would be expected up there in NLP! ( about 8)
2. White Breasted Nuthatch (about 4)
3. Common Raven (1)

That's ALL we had there all day!

Last bird of 2010 was Tufted Titmouse, about 6 of them just before we left downstate for the up north cabin 8-)
